Proving that Floridians want their freedom back, FDP Chair Nikki Fried announced on December 20, 2023 that Floridians Protecting Freedom has reached their goal for petitions to put the important Abortion Amendment on the ballot in 2024. Over 1.4 million petitions were submitted to the state and FPF is still collecting and processing even more.

“Floridians want their freedom back,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried. “Initiatives to protect reproductive rights have won on every ballot since the fall of Roe v. Wade—and Florida is next. We can feel the momentum as the coalition exceeds their goal and prepares to submit over 1.4 million petitions early.”

“Attorney General Ashley Moody has already tried to stop the abortion amendment from getting on the ballot in 2024, asking the Florida Supreme Court to block it. Ashley’s addiction to power has made her ignore the voices of Floridians, and these petitions prove it. Florida Democrats stand ready to fight back against any attempt to block the will of the people on reproductive rights.”

Floridians Protecting Freedom are still collecting petitions in targeted congressional districts. Registered voters can submit their signatures to P.O. Box 4068, Sarasota, FL 34230. February 1, 2023 is the final validation deadline for petition signatures. February 1st validation deadline.
