On Tuesday, March 28, 2023, the Marion County School Board meeting was treated to bussed in angry conservatives set on banning any and all books that didn’t fit their personal parameters of suitable for school age children. Fortunately, Marion Dems had a tipoff that this was happening, and we called out to our army of #BlueSunshine, who turned out en force.
Thirty-seven speakers addressed the board on both sides of the issue, which appeared to have been sparked by Gov. DeSantis’ March 8th press conference that called Florida’s recent attack on teachers and books as a “hoax”.
Many thanks to our Marion County residents who took the time and realized the urgency to address this issue. We hope to see you at the polls in 2024!
