NANCY CARP

Secretary

Nancy Carp grew up in Baltimore County, Maryland, and has been deeply involved with politics since she was young. Her family was active in the Maryland and Baltimore County political process, including civic organizations, holding every board position. In 1986, she ran for the elected political office of Maryland Democratic State Central Committee. Although she lost by just 30 votes, she continued to be an advocate for the Maryland Democratic Party and democracy.

In 2011, she moved to Ocala, Marion County, and immediately immersed herself in community groups, organizations, fighting hate, fighting for equality, and helping with election campaigns. She has been a member of the Marion Democratic Women’s Club, and currently is a member of the Marion Democratic Executive Committee, as well as the Democratic Club at On Top of the World. Additionally, she is a Past President of the On Top of the World Jewish Club.

As a retired educator, business owner, and politician, she brings years of experience and insight to our organization, and to Marion County. Her posts on Facebook, BlueSky, Instagram, and Threads are intended to educate people on issues with facts, graphics and a little humor.

In her spare time, she loves researching, setting up, and fixing computers and smartphones, and loves to swim, sing and act. She lives with her favorite companion, Chloe, who follows her everywhere.
