As you may have heard, I was elected to another term as Chair of the Florida Democratic Party over the weekend. It’s been the honor of my life to be your chair for these last two years — and now it’s an even higher honor to be trusted with another four. Your faith in me is humbling, and I promise to work my ass off to build back power for the Florida Democratic Party.
Over the next four years, we have an opportunity to work towards the future — one where we can put an end to the Republican supermajority, hold them accountable for their failures, and stand up to Donald Trump and the extremism that’s taken over Washington.
In politics, sometimes you get knocked down. But it’s how you get up to fight another day that matters. Florida Democrats are going to get back up, and fight back for the people of this state.
We can start by winning local races to build the bench, and making sure Floridians know that Democrats in Tallahassee have answers to their problems — answers that the Republicans have ignored, like how to make Florida more affordable for all people.
Our job as a party is bigger than me, it’s about the work we all do together. I know that all of you are ready to show the country that Florida is still worth fighting for.
We’re just getting started, and we won’t back down.
