Identifying Your Candidates

To find out who are the Democratic candidates running in your district:

  • Thirty days prior to an election, go to the Supervisor of Elections website.
  • Scroll down the home page to the News section. Click Complete Sample Ballot to see all the candidates.
  • If you don’t know your district, you can look that up on the same website:
    • On the Home page, under the Voters drop-down menu, click Check My Registration Status.
    • Fill in your name and date of birth to see a sample ballot for your district, request a mail ballot, check the status of your mailed ballot, and other information.

If you need to report an incident or need assistance while voting, you can call the following non-partisan voter protection numbers:

Florida Dems are focusing on recruiting candidates to run for open or uncontested races in congressional, state and local elections. In Marion County, we currently have Democrats running for US Senator, US Representative in Districts 3 & 6, State Senator District 9, and Florida House Districts 20, 21, 23, 24 and 27. There are also many LOCAL offices available to Dem candidates. Let's make this the year Floridians can vote BLUE all the way down their ballot! Are you an “Inactive Voter”?

Following the 2022 elections, which saw historically low turnout for Florida Democrats — intentional changes in election laws targeting voters who sat out 2022 caused a dramatic rise in the number of inactive voters in the state.Over the past year, Florida Republicans have been quick to take victory laps on their voter registration lead — but in reality, the active voter count does not tell the whole story. Republicans report a voter registration gap of nearly 800,000, but when you factor in inactive voters across the state — a number that has skyrocketed because of Republican voter suppression laws — the real voter registration gap between Democrats and Republicans in Florida is around 509,000 voters. Inactive voters are still eligible to vote on election day, but they stop being counted in official voter registration totals — in many cases, they stop receiving campaign materials reminding them to vote.
