VOTER RESOURCES
Florida is a closed primary state, which means only voters registered as Democrats can vote for Democratic candidates in primary elections. Your ballot is based on your party registration, so being registered as a Democrat ensures your voice is heard in choosing Democratic nominees. Voters with no party affiliation cannot vote in partisan primaries unless a Universal Primary Contest is in place. All voters, regardless of party, may vote on nonpartisan races and issues, and in General Elections every registered voter receives the same ballot and may vote for any candidate.
